Workshops for teaching staff
Teachers
Teachers are working longer hours than ever and a high proportion are considering leaving the profession because they feel overworked and stressed. As many as one in three teachers considers leaving the teaching profession in the first five years after qualifying because of the stress they face within their workplace. Stressful working conditions within any profession can have significant health implications, emotionally as well as physically.
For many teachers, the effects of chronic stress may result in heightened levels of anxiety or restlessness, insomnia, impaired concentration, depression as well as a less effective immune system. Add to that the perpetual changes to the curriculum, systems of assessment, grading (or not grading!), data, observations, inspections… All this without even considering the challenges teachers have to cope and deal with at the end of their working day: small children, teenagers, mortgage payments, older relatives etc. It really is not surprising that a considerable number of teachers experience a period of ‘burnout’ at some stage in their career.

Follow-up workshop (after 4-6 weeks)
I show ways of sharing different age-appropriate techniques with students/ pupils.
Pupils and students
A lot of children at school and college experience increased stress as a result of their home life, relationship or friendship issues, pressures from Social Media as well as various degrees of academic pressure. This stress acts as a barrier to being an effective and independent learner as stress has the potential to affect memory, concentration and problem solving ability. This in turn can lead to decreased student engagement, lack of commitment and poor attendance.
How can Tapping help?
Tapping is very effective for reducing anxiety and stress caused by a range of emotional issues. It significantly increases positive emotions, self esteem and resilience. It has also been shown to lower levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. Too much cortisol can result in lowered immune function and ultimately, it affects our physical health.
Because Tapping is easy to learn and easy to use, it is an invaluable tool for both students and teachers. It has noticeable calming effect and can be used with children as young as 4-5 years of age.
